Welcome to wintry Iceland, where your adventure begins. Spend your first day soaking in the energy of Reykjavík, the lively capital city. You might choose to stroll along the historic old harbor, enjoy a meal at a cozy local restaurant, or unwind in one of the city’s renowned geothermal pools before your first full day of activities.
Overnight in Reykjavik.

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel before venturing underground into Raufarhólshellir, one of Iceland’s most expansive lava tubes. Walk through the ancient volcanic cavern to view vibrant geological features shaped by an eruption thousands of years ago. Return to Reykjavík in the afternoon for some leisure time—ideal for visiting a cozy city café. After dark, set out on a guided bus excursion to search for the Northern Lights (with optional tour upgrades available by boat, super jeep, or small-group vehicle). Please keep in mind that aurora sightings depend on weather and solar activity, and schedules may shift if conditions aren’t favorable.
Overnight in Reykjavík.

Start the day with breakfast at your hotel before boarding a super jeep in Reykjavík for an action-packed journey. Your first destination is Þingvellir National Park, the historic location of Iceland’s early parliament and the geologic rift separating the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates. Continue to the Geysir geothermal region to watch Strokkur spout scalding water dozens of feet skyward amidst bubbling pools, then head over to marvel at the impressive torrents of Gullfoss waterfall. Afterwards, journey into the highlands as your vehicle maneuvers onto the frozen slopes of Langjökull glacier, where you’ll gear up at base camp for a thrill-filled, one-hour tandem snowmobile ride across the snow-covered expanse.
Return to Reykjavík for your overnight stay.

Spend the day diving deeper into Iceland’s capital, Reykjavík. Discover its fascinating museums, browse unique shops, and savor local flavors at its many restaurants and cafés. You can also unwind at one of the city’s numerous heated public pools or spas.
Alternatively, choose from one of our popular optional day tours—please note that only one tour can be booked per day.

On the way back, stop at Seljalandsfoss waterfall, famous for the path that lets you walk behind the cascading water. If you’re visiting between February 1 and November 15, you’ll also visit the mighty Skógafoss just nearby.
