Terms and Conditions

1. Explanation of Terms

  • “We” / “Us”: GoIcelandTours.com.
  • “You”: The person purchasing the vacation and agreeing to these Terms on behalf of all travelers in the booking. If booked on behalf of a company, “you” means that company.
  • “Event”: Any element of a holiday booked with Go Iceland Tours (e.g., accommodation, tours, activities).

     

By paying any deposit or fee, you confirm you’ve read and accepted these Terms on behalf of all travelers.

2. Booking With Go Iceland Tours

How to Book

  • By phone (credit card) or via our payment portal. Using either method, or paying via a bank transfer, confirms agreement to these Terms for all travellers.

Your Responsibility to Review Terms

  • It is the responsibility of each traveller (or the lead passenger on behalf of all travellers) to read and understand the most up-to-date Terms & Conditions available on our website before booking.
  • These Terms & Conditions may change without prior notice.

Lead Passenger / Organizer

  • We deal primarily with the lead passenger for all communications, payments, and cancellations.
  • Other travelers may receive payment reminders and informational emails, but the lead passenger is legally responsible for the full booking.
  • The lead passenger must be 18+, provide accurate details, and share updates with their party.

Children & Minors

  • Travelers under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Certain offers may have additional restrictions. You must notify us if anyone in your party will be under 18 at time of travel.

Confirmation

  • We confirm accommodation (or similar accommodation of the same or higher standard if the original is not available) and email you the details.
  • If anything is incorrect, notify us immediately. We may correct obvious errors.

3. Quotes & Prices

  • Prices are accurate when quoted but may change due to availability, events, or supplier updates.
  • After booking, prices may change only if supplier costs or taxes increase.
  • Any change will be notified no later than 30 days before departure.

4. Payments

Deposits

  • Standard: 30% of total trip price.
  • Some services (e.g., golf, event tickets, special accommodation, transport) may require full payment upfront. These amounts are non-refundable and flagged at booking.
  • Deposits are non-refundable. In some cases, they may be transferable to another date or traveler.
  • Special low-deposit offers (e.g., staggered deposits): balance of the full 30% is due within 2 months of initial payment. Failure to top up may result in cancellation and loss of payments made.


Balance Due Dates

  • Self-Drive and Private Tours: 90 days before departure.
  • Coach Tours: 100 days before departure (see Addendum).


Fees, Methods & Currency

  • A third-party payment processing fee (up to 5.5%) may apply to card transactions.
  • Payment methods: Bank Transfer; Credit Card (via online portal or by phone).
  • Prices are in USD ($). Any non-USD amounts shown are estimates only. You are responsible for currency conversion and bank charges.

5. Special Offers

  • Apply only to Self-Drive and Escorted packages, unless offered by Coach providers.
  • Direct (non-commissionable) bookings only.
  • Not combinable with other discounts.

6. Cancellations by You

How to Cancel

  • The lead passenger must cancel in writing (email is acceptable).
  • If booked via an agent, the agent must notify us.
  • Cancellation takes effect when we confirm receipt.
  • We issue a cancellation invoice within 14 days; contact us if not received.


Deposits

  • Always non-refundable unless your tour is cancelled by us. If calculated charges are less than the deposit, we retain the full deposit.


Cancellation Charges (based on written notice received)

  • 35+ days before departure: Loss of 30% deposit
  • 34–15 days: 50% of total trip cost
  • 14–7 days: 75% of total trip cost
  • 6–1 days: 90% of total trip cost
  • Day of departure / no-show: 100% of total trip cost


Refunds

  • Subject to a 10% handling fee.
  • No refunds for non-attendance, early departure, or missed services.
  • Non-refundable extras (tickets, golf, excursions, etc.) are always charged in full.
  • Supplier penalties (e.g., hotels, attractions, transport) may apply up to 100% in addition to the above.
  • For Coach Tours, stricter provider terms may apply in addition to ours.


Transfers & Amendments

You may transfer a booking if:

  1. You authorize in writing
  2. The new traveler accepts these Terms
  3. They have valid travel insurance (insurance is not transferable)
  4. All fees are paid

If a new lead passenger fails to pay, the original lead remains liable.

Amendments

  • Changes requested less than 60 days before arrival (Self-Drive & Private Tours) will incur amendment fees.
  • Party size changes at any time may alter per-person costs.
  • If new arrangements are cheaper, no price reduction applies.
  • If you are unhappy with a booking, notify us within 48 hours of confirmation.

7. If We Cancel or Change Your Booking

  • We may cancel if minimum numbers are not met or you fail to pay on time.
  • If we cancel for other reasons, you may choose a refund or, if available, a replacement trip of equivalent standard and price.
  • We may need to make changes (e.g., schedules, hotels); we’ll notify you as early as possible.

8. Tour Inclusions

Chauffeur-Driven Tours

  • Includes: driver/guide, vehicle, accommodations, breakfasts, attraction entry, sightseeing, tolls/road fees, and dining advice.
  • Daily limit: 8 hours driving + 1 hour for lunch (9 hours total). Drivers cannot exceed this for safety.
  • Typical start time: 9–10am.
  • Some attractions are self-guided; drivers usually wait outside.


Self-Drive Packages

  • Includes: accommodations, breakfasts, rental car (compulsory insurance, unlimited mileage, breakdown cover), and a personal itinerary.
  • Driver requirements:
    Valid credit card in main driver’s name; valid license held for 2+ years; age 25–75 (some vehicles require 30+; younger or older drivers may be accepted with surcharges). Contact us if outside this range.


Coach Tours

  • May include flights, hotels, transport, activities, and guides as specified by the provider.
  • Subject to the provider’s terms (see Addendum).

9. Insurance & Liability

  • Travel insurance is mandatory for all travelers and must cover accidents, medical expenses, evacuation, cancellations, and activities.
  • We are not liable for injury, loss, or damage caused by suppliers; delays or cancellations; strikes; war; weather; government actions; force majeure; or other circumstances beyond our control.
  • Tour passengers are insured as passengers in vehicles we provide. Independent transport outside the tour is not covered.
  • For Coach Tours, we act as agent; liability rests with the provider.

10. Conduct & Accommodation

Conduct

  • We may refuse service or end your arrangements if behavior is disruptive, abusive, threatening, or unsafe. No refunds apply. You are liable for damages.

Accommodation

  • Only named travelers may use reserved rooms.
  • You are responsible for any damage or costs caused.
  • Room allocation and layout is at the hotel’s discretion.
  • A valid credit card or cash deposit and photo ID may be required at check-in. We are not responsible for recovering such deposits.

11. Alterations by Us (Safety / Force Majeure)

  • We may cancel or reschedule if safety is threatened (e.g., severe weather).
  • Refunds do not apply where cancellations or interruptions are due to force majeure, including (non-exhaustive): war, terrorism, riots, civil unrest, pandemics, government action, natural disasters, industrial disputes, technical failures, overbooking, quarantine, flight cancellation or misconnection, or lack of medical care.
  • If we cancel for reasons not covered above, we will refund all payments you made.

12. Complaint

Please raise any complaints or concerns in writing as soon as possible so we can help resolve them promptly. Complaints can be directed to your sales agent, who can escalate to management.

13. Privacy Statement

We collect:

  2. Newsletter sign-ups
  3. Site usage data (cookies and logs)


We do not share personal data with third parties.

Our site may link to external websites; their policies apply.

  • Website information may change and may contain errors. We disclaim liability for inaccuracies.

Coach Tours Addendum

  • Flights: May be added for a fee; airline Terms & Conditions apply.
  • Payments: Balance due 100 days before departure. Deposits remain non-refundable and may also be subject to provider policy.
  • Hotels / Transport / Activities: Arranged by the coach tour provider; their terms apply.
  • Cancellations / Amendments: If the provider’s policy is stricter, it applies in addition to ours.
  • Responsibility: We act as agent; the provider is responsible for delivery of services. Clients are bound by both sets of Terms.
